Perhaps one of the most unique features are the Dealertainers, blackjack dealers who dress up as celebrity look-alikes, complete with impromptu musical performances!
The Hideout pool and bar at the Golden Nugget
Golden Nugget: For travelers who prefer the "old Las Vegas," heading downtown to the Golden Nugget is one of the most historic experiences available. Reviews on TripAdvisor are generally very positive, with "excellent" or "very good" ratings being given by the vast majority reviewers. One reviewer says it is "smaller, cheaper, and way better than the main strip." Quick access to the Fremont Street Experience, complete with zipline, is a big plus.
Las Vegas Luxury Hotels
Living in the lap of luxury is close at hand in Las Vegas. Most of the larger resorts have fantastically large suites that can go for thousands of dollars a night, but even their more modest accommodations are among the swankiest in the country.
Mandalay Bay: A Frommer's review describes Mandalay Bay is "one of our favorite hotels," offering "public areas [that] really do make this seem more like an actual resort hotel than just a Vegas version of one." It is located a little further down the Strip than the most central resorts, but a monorail quickly connects guests to Luxor and Excalibur to get closer to the heart of the action.
Encore at Wynn: The original Wynn Las Vegas was met with a lot of fanfare, most notably because Wynn is the winner of the most Forbes Five Star rating awards in the world. Encore at Wynn continues that award-winning tradition with more Asian-inspired decor in public areas. The most stunning and sweeping views can be enjoyed from the Panoramic Suites and the Wynn Resort even has its own golf course, right on the Strip.
Tea Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental hotel
Mandarin Oriental: It is truly rare to get a near perfect rating on Expedia, but that is exactly what the Mandarin Oriental has been able to achieve. The overall guest rating on the travel site is nearly perfect with the overwhelming majority of guests recommending the hotel. It is located adjacent to the equally stunning Aria, Vdara, and the rest of the newer City Center complex.
Family-Friendly Accommodations
While it has a reputation for being Sin City, Las Vegas also has a lot to offer for families with children. Several area hotels are particularly well-suited for families.
Circus Circus: It may be one of the older hotels and it may be a little isolated from the heart of the Strip, but Circus Circus is a mainstay for families visiting Las Vegas. The carnival-like atmosphere is very much geared toward both the young and the young at heart. Circus acts perform frequently and are free to watch. The attached Adventuredome Theme Park offers thrill rides, bumper cars, midway games, a video arcade and free clown shows.
ARIA Sky Suites: The Aria Resort and Casino is a 4,000+ room mega-resort with a wealth of amenities, including spa, five pools and a fitness center. For families, the larger Sky Suites are most appropriate, offering up to 1,630 square feet with two bedrooms. Even the standard deluxe rooms are 520 square feet, larger than most standard rooms at other hotels.
The Mirage Volcano
The Mirage: From the "live" volcano out front to the tropically-themed interior, kids have a lot to like at the Mirage. It is connected via a complimentary tram to sister hotel Treasure Island, a pirate-themed resort complete with a free pirate show out front. The very central location, between Caesar's Palace and the Fashion Show Mall, make the Mirage a convenient hub for your Las Vegas vacation.
