47 Park Street Hotel - London

London bridge

47 Park St is a boutique style hotel that is apartment style. When you stay there you will genuinely feel like you are staying at your own apartment in London, rather than a hotel. Thankfully there are wonderful hotel amenities such as a fantastic concierge, wonderful room service and of course, daily maid service and turn-down.

Previously owned by Sofitel, Marriot took it over in 2002 and completely renovated and refurbished it in 2003.

The Rooms at 47 Park Street

There are a total of 49 apartments consisting of 1 & 2 bedrooms. Single bedrooms include three levels: Executive, Premium, and Deluxe. The rooms are monstrously large and are rated around the best in London, both for size and comfort. They are well appointed and tastefully decorated. When we stayed there we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite that we could have lived in for a month. The suites, as well as most rooms have a kitchenette, where you can fill the fridge, make coffee and a light meal. But don't try and compete with the room service!

La Gavroche Restaurant

Next door to 47 Park St is La Gavroche with Chef/Owner Michelle Rue. La Gavroche is one of London's top 5 restaurants and worthy of 3 Michelin stars. The hotel has private access to the restaurant and a special relationship that can probably get you a reservation that an outsider cannot.

Home Away from Home

47 Park St is a home away from home and is smaller and quieter than a full scale hotel. Most will appreciate it for what it is, but some will prefer the more pure hotel oriented experience. We went over to the Dorchester Hotel for a drink at The Bar and we were struck by the grandeur of the Hotel lobby compared to 47 Park St. Some will prefer that buzz and energy, others will prefer going back to what quickly feels like your OWN residence in London.

The Concierge service at 47 Park Street is sensational. I received an email a couple of weeks before arriving asking for my flight information and if I needed a car from the Airport. Also, the Concierge (Hayden) offered to help out with dinner reservations. I took him up on all of the above and he delivered.

Marriot Grand Residence Club

If you fall in love with 47 Park St (and that's easy to do), then you can actually buy a fractional ownership in one of the apartments. You purchase 21 days per year in their Marriot Grand Residence program. Your nights are transferable to friends and other family members and Marriot will resell on your behalf any unused days. Membership also grants you limited access to the Ritz Carlton Club, which is similar in nature to Marriot Grand Residence.
